FISDU Constitution
Article I. Theme:
This organization shall be recognized as the Filipino Intercultural
Society of Drexel University (FISDU)
Article II. Objectives: The purpose of this association shall be to
strengthen, represent, and spread the Filipino culture throughout
the Drexel University community.
- To promote and represent the Filipino culture in the Drexel community.
- To interact with other organizations on campus and from other colleges in order to grasp a stronger bond between all the cultures in the Drexel community.
- To offer support and aid to Filipinos studying at Drexel University.
- To provide service to Drexel University and Filipino awareness through social events.
Article III. Membership: Any Drexel University Student regardless of sex, race, creed, religion, handicap, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin may become a member of FISDU.
- Active members sha ll be required to pay a due every semester which shall be determined by the Executive Board.
- Active members shall be required to attend a minimum of fifty percent of the general meetings.
- Membership shall be forfeited on the grounds of gross misconduct or representing FISDU in a manner, which conflicts with the beliefs of this organization.
Article IV.
Officers
Section 1. The Executive Board
- The Board shall create, ratify, amend, and enforce the FISDU constitution.
- The Board shall consist of 8 elected members of FISDU that understand and accept the responsibilities of their respective position.
- There shall be one Chief Executive of the Board (CEB) to oversee and assume the responsibility of the Board as a whole.
- The Board shall preside over all FISDU functions such as meetings and activities.
- The nine remaining Board members shall consist of the following elected positions: External Assistant Executive of the Board, Internal Assistant Executive of the Board, Treasurer, Secretary, two Designers, and a Newsletter Editor.
- Each Executive Board member has the authority to appoint two members of the organization to a Coordinating Committee.
Section 2. Coordinating Committee
- Each Coordinating Committee member has the responsibility to assist their respective Executive Board member.
- The Coordinating Committee is not required. The Coordinating members will be formed only on a need basis. Each Executive Board member has the right to create or do without a Coordinating Committee.
- The Coordinating Committee may be created at any given time by the Executive Board members during their respective tenure.
Section 3. Removal of an Executive Board Member: An Executive Board member may be removed from the respective position if the member does not consistently meet the specified requirements as outlined in this constitution to the satisfaction of the organization.
- The Executive Board Member shall be notified of his/her unsatisfactory performance by the other members of the Executive Board.
- The accused Executive Board Member then has the right to
two options:
- Resign or remain in office under conditions that performance will be improved immediately.
- If no improvement occurs, a formal dismissal of the accused Executive Board Member may take place and a replacement Executive Board Member shall be appointed by the remaining members of the Executive Board.
Section 4. National Organization Representatives It is advised that the External Assistant Chief Executive Board become a representative along with another Executive Board Member.
- The position of the second representative shall be voted upon by the rest of the Executive Board.
- Should the External Chief Assistant Executive of the Board decline the position of National Organization Representatives, the new position of Representative will be voted upon by the Executive Board.
Article V. Election of the Executive Board: Election of the Executive Board Members
- Nominations shall be held the second meeting of the spring term.
- Elections shall be held one meeting after nominations.
- Each nominee is given the right to present a speech before the vote takes place.
- The elected member is chosen by majority votes.
- If the election ties, each nominee will give a mandatory presentation to the members and another vote shall take place. Inauguration shall occur at the beginning of the fall term.

Article VI. Faculty Advisor: There shall be a faculty advisor to aid FISDU in its decisions that concern the Drexel University community.
- The advisor shall be a liaison between Drexel University and FISDU.
- The advisor shall aid in all decisions concerning Student Government Meetings.
Article VII.
Meetings
Section 1. General Meetings
- General meetings shall be held a minimum of four times an academic term.
- Notification of regular and special meetings shall be communicated to all members.
- Meetings shall be conducted under the revised Robert's Rules of Order.
- A quorum of at least fifty percent of the members of this organization shall be present at all meetings.
Section 2. Executive Board Meetings
- Executive Board meetings shall be communicated to all Executive Board members.
- Executive Board meetings will be held a minimum of twice a month.
- A quorum of the Executive Board must be present unless otherwise stated.
Article VIII. Ratification
- This constitution shall be ratified by an agreement of the Executive Board.
Article IX. Amendments
- All proposed amendments shall be raised and put to a discussion at two consecutive Executive Board meetings before the said amendment is to a vote.
- Proposed amendments agreed upon by three fourths of the members at the general meeting shall be passed.
Article X. Dissolution
- The Executive Board shall discuss the dissolution of the organization at two consecutive meetings.
- Further discussion shall occur at the general meeting concerning the dissolution of the organization.
- The faculty advisor shall be notified and asked to attend all the discussions with the Executive board at the general meeting.
- A formal dissolution document shall be created stating the withdraw of FISDU from the Drexel community along with an explanation of the organizations dissolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF EACH EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER:
- Attend all general meetings
- Pay dues when collected
- Attend all Executive Board meetings
- Arrive 15 minutes early to the meeting
Responsibilities of the Chief Executive of the Board (CEB)
- Responsible for administrative duties.
- Responsible for outreach communication with other organizations.
- Keep open communication with Filipino community.
Responsibilities of the External Assistant Chief Executive of the Board (EACEB)
- Responsible for communication with non-Drexel organizations.
- Responsible for publicizing FISDU events to non-Drexel organizations.
- Assists CEB with matters to ensure the success of FISDU.
Responsibilities of the Internal Assistant Chief Executive of the Board (IACEB)
- Chair general meetings when CEB is not available.
- Responsible for organizing inter-club and Drexel activities.
Responsibilities of the Treasurer of the Executive Board
- Collect all dues from the members of FISDU.
- Maintain record of all monetary transactions income and expenditures.
- Create a cost budget for each event.
Responsibilities of the Secretary of the Executive Board
- Record minutes and notes of general meetings.
- Record membership attendance.
- Hold and maintain notes of all general meetings.
Responsibilities of the Designers of the Executive Board
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the FISDU website.
- Will create and make available to the members an archive of FISDU events.
- In charge of producing flyers and any publications needed.
- In charge of forming a collection of FISDU member's photographs or events.
Responsibilities of the Newsletter Editor of the Executive Board
- Responsible for gathering articles and other information for the newsletter.
- In charge of producing the FISDU newsletter on a term basis.
*The above responsibilities do not list all responsibilities. Further responsibilities may be added on a needed basis. Other responsibilities are otherwise implied within the specified positions and should be taken into account. Extra effort and work outside of the above list will be greatly appreciated.

B. The Board shall consist of 11 elected members of FISDU that understand and accept
the responsibilities of their respective position.
C. There shall be one Chief Executive of the Board (CEB) to oversee and assume the
responsibility of the Board as a whole.
D. The Board shall preside over all FISDU functions such as meetings and activities.
E. The ten remaining Board members shall consist of the following elected positions:
External Assistant Executive of the Board, Internal Assistant Executive of the Board,
Treasurer, Secretary, two Designers, two Webmasters, and two Newsletter Editors.
F. Each Executive Board member has the authority to appoint two members of the organization to a Coordinating Committee.
Section 2. Coordinating Committee
A. Each Coordinating Committee member has the responsibility to assist their respective Executive Board member.
B. The Coordinating Committee is not required. The Coordinating members will be formed only on a need basis. Each Executive Board member has the right to create or do without a Coordinating Committee.
C. The Coordinating Committee may be created at any given time by the Executive Board members during their respective tenure.

may take place via email and a replacement Executive Board Member shall be appointed by the remaining members of the Executive Board.
Section 4. National Organization Representatives
It is advised that the External Assistant Chief Executive Board become a representative along with another Executive Board Member.
A. The position of the second representative shall be voted upon by the rest of the Executive Board.
B. Should the External Chief Assistant Executive of the Board decline the position of National Organization Representatives, the new position of Representative will be voted upon by the Executive Board.

1. Responsible for maintaining and updating all web content
